Pukwana student awarded $1,500 scholarship
Pukwana – Local student Reed Pazour has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship from America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. In the fall, Pazour will study agricultural business management at Mitchell Technical Institute.
Pazour exemplifies the quality of students who are selected for Grow Ag Leaders scholarships.
“He has a gift for encouraging others to strive to get things done. This also compels him to do it right the first time. He is not afraid to interact with anyone and to work with them to help them achieve their goals. He has worked very hard, not only academically, but mentally to overcome some learning disabilities to achieve the education that he needs to attain his goals,” said Steven Pazour.
The future of agriculture relies on talented young people like Pazour to fill thousands of jobs in a variety of fields, such as plant science, engineering, communications, finance and more. Grow Ag Leaders raises awareness of diverse career opportunities in the agriculture industry and provides 352 scholarships nationwide to support student’s post high school ag education.
Grow Ag Leaders scholarships, administered by the National FFA Organization, are available to high school seniors and college students pursuing degrees in ag-related fields. To be considered, each applicant is required to receive endorsements from at least three local farmers. Both FFA members and non-FFA members are eligible to apply.
